Since the days of dv camcorders and first generation iMovie, Allie has always been drawn to video making. It became clear in 2011 that her passion for skiing (the outdoors) and filmmaking work well together. With a BA in art from Whitman College, Allie pursued her interest through internships and entry level editing jobs, production assistance-ing when possible while slowly piecing her own camera kit together. Somewhere along the way, she became a filmmaker. As she continues to grown and learn, Allie Rood Films aims to create videos ranging from feature length documentary to content marketing.
Allie has worked for recognized outdoor production companies such as Teton Gravity Research and KGB Productions. She was assistant editor and producer for the acclaimed all female ski film "Pretty Face; the story of a skier girl" nominated for movie of the year at the 2014 Powder Awards and winner of the Cold Smoke Femme Fatal award in 2015. As a freelance filmmaker, she has worked on projects for clients such as Macpac, Chill Pass, Temple Basin Ski Club, Mountain Collective, Blank Canvas Wines, The Avalanche Project, Armada Skis, Lovelight Cinema and more. With a background as an athlete, producer and visual artist, Allie has an eye for creating stories about people pushing boundaries.
"As a wanderer, I mostly stay off the beaten path. It is my adventurous spirit that has, for better or for worse, shaped the lifestyle I live now. You will find me on rivers, mountains, and roads with a big old mouth of pearly whites."
